Already looking forward to next week's class - got to love the relaxation session at the end..........pure bliss

I just love this paper it's got to be one of my absolute OA faves. Have to be honest the rest of the Ducks in a Row range isn't really me but this one I just love.

A Retreat, Exciting New Times oh and a Challenge

Okay where do I start??? The weekend on August 7 -10 was Just Scrapbooking's retreat in Serpentine and it was a fabulous weekend. Jordie runs a great retreat and this was no exception - so thanks Jords for all your organising....mwah! I have to thank Sandra, Clare and Jenni for providing no shortage of laughing moments throughout the weekend - I think I would be happy to sit with them again! Scrapping wise I didn't get a heap done but I was happy with what I did achieve. I have pulled a few of my fave layouts to share with you. First up was completed as part of the using lace paper challenge. Very non-Kat colours but I really love it. Used Stretch your Imagination and Home Decor cricut carts for the flourishes and title and if you look carefully you may even see a TBZ mirror butterfly.
This next layout is oh so simple but I just love the pic so had to share :)
Amberlee's first ever school pics included this cheeky one outside.
So what was the challenge that I referred to in my title?? Mel gave Sherry (who came over for the craft fair and stayed to join in the fun of the retreat) a challenge. The challenge was to scrap a pic of Sherry and I or Sherry, Mel and I. I wanted to do both pics but ran out of time so only got the Sherry and I one done - so keep an eye out for the other as it's high on my To Do list.

Lots of exciting things are happening with Sissey at the moment. My first kit releases are only 15 sleeps away and my first box of stock arrived this afternoon. Keep an eye out on the Sissey blog for further info - see the link in my sidebar. My scrap room is nearly converted - Matt and I went to IKEA last weekend - need I say more?? Actually that gives me a really good idea for a layout...rofl

I'm Back!

Well I am back into the world of scrapping! This weekend just gone I think Mr. Mojo made his welcome return! After struggling for sooooo long and thinking that perhaps I was finished with the scrapbooking journey I am proud to say that the drought is over..................WOO HOO!!

So here's a few layouts that have been completed recently - some you can tell that Mr. Mojo was still warming up but other's I just love! Not going to tell you what's what though...........lol Whilst on the subject of scrapbooking I may have some news to share in the coming weeks, it's a biggie but can't say much yet as nothing is definate.

I took this pic of Kimba in the garden today. For such a photogenic cat he can be difficult to get a photo of. But this is a great one - he looks so proud when in actually fact he was probably crapping himself - you see he's really not an outside cat but then I really don't know many Ragdolls that are.

Well what ever you are up to - hope it's going fabulously for you.

Take care

MJ Memorial

I am still saddened by the death of MJ.....particularly for his family. I was watching his concert in Budapest back in 1991 today on foxtel and the reaction from the fans and just the masses and masses of people who were there. Some of them wouldn't have even seen him if it wasn't for the massive screens either side of the stage - but like me I am sure that seeing him in concert was the most magical 2 hours of their lives.

Michael Jackson provided the soundtrack for many peoples lives - he practically was the entire soundtrack for my wedding (both oldies and newies) - he was our first dance, our first song...... He was the world's greatest entertainer but at the same time watching the Memorial this morning brought back the reality he was someone's family. The comments at the end by Paris broke my heart to think of this poor little poppet losing her Daddy. I don't think it was cheap and nasty as some tabloids have reported - to me it was a little girl missing her Daddy. Usher's "Gone too soon" was another teary moment in the memorial as was Jermaine Jackson's 'Smile'.

Amberlee has had a crash course in MJ over the last week or so. Yes she had heard him previously but perhaps not on constant repeat in the car! I now have a 4 year old who likes to show us her 'moonwalk'. Although she told me that she can't dance like him but Mummy I can spin like him! As she ends up in a heap on the floor :)

The music and legacy of Michael Jackson will live on - and now perhaps songs such as 'Heal the World' may become even more important than they already are. I just hope now that the world's media sources can quietly fade into the background to allow this broken family to heal.

On a scrapping front - Mr Mojo may have been located but I'm not saying much in fear that it will chase him away again. So will share some scrapping later.
